Welcome to the home page of the ForSE – Forest Snitches / Les Indics de la forêt project, which studies behavioral modifications of forest elephants (Loxodonta cyclotis) in response to human activities.
This project is the result of a collaboration between the Center for Ecology and Conservation Sciences (CESCO) of the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle de Paris
and the National Agency of National Parks (ANPN)
of Gabon.
Together, we are working to deepen our knowledge of this emblematic species, its links with its environment and with human activities to develop effective conservation strategies and promote long-term coexistence with local communities.
Discover our efforts to better understand this species, which is essential to the proper functioning of the Congo Basin forests.

This project is financed by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) from the Horizon Program of the European Union.
The Gabon National Parks Agency’s forest elephant telemetry program received funding from the French Development Agency and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
